Yeo Bee Yin is an accomplished chemical engineer and environmental leader with a strong track record. At the age of 29, Yeo made history when she was appointed as Malaysia’s Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change. During her tenure, she led transformative initiatives that gained international attention. These included sending back illegally imported plastic waste to their countries of origin, increasing the adoption of rooftop solar energy by 20 times, setting Malaysia’s first-ever renewable energy target of 20% by 2025, and launching the Zero Single-Use Plastics Roadmap by 2030.
Her impactful leadership earned her global recognition. In 2018, Nature named her among the “Top 10 People Who Mattered Most in Science.” The following year, she was listed by The Ecologist as one of “25 Inspirational Female Climate Leaders Shaping the Climate Agenda,” and selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.

Prof. Chen Wei Rong is the Dean of the Institute of Hydrogen and Energy Storage Technology at Southwest Jiaotong University and Executive Deputy Director of the National Engineering Technology Research Center for Rail Transit Electrification and Automation. A renowned expert in rail traction power and new energy technologies, he has led over 40 national and provincial research projects, including the development of China’s first hydrogen fuel cell hybrid locomotive and the world’s first hydrogen-powered tram.
Prof. Chen is a recipient of the State Council Special Government Allowance, the Mao Yisheng Railway Science and Technology Award, and two National Science and Technology Progress Awards (Second Class). He is a Fellow of IET, Senior Member of IEEE, and holds over 120 patents and 500 publications.

Prof Sureswaran is currently Head of Department (BSc Medical Informatics) at RUMC, Penang, and Professor Emeritus at MUST. A globally recognized expert in IPv6, cybersecurity, and 5G, he was the former Chairman of the ITU/UN IPv6 & IoT Centre and founding Director of NAv6 at USM.
An innovator and entrepreneur, he co-founded ICON Business Systems (Florida) and led Mlabs Systems Berhad to become Malaysia’s first university-based tech firm listed on the stock exchange. His work has earned over 40 national and international innovation awards, including the Malaysian Innovation Award and the prestigious “Anugerah Tokoh Negara.”
He has published over 200 research works, supervised more than 20 PhD students, and developed global IPv6 training programs (CNE6, CSE6). Prof Sureswaran continues to contribute to national and global efforts in internet technologies and cybersecurity.

Nesa currently serves as the Head of Corporate Strategy & Sustainability at Cenergi SEA Berhad, a leading renewable energy project developer in Malaysia. With 30 years of expertise in complex program development, environmental management, sustainability, and operational safety, she is a highly experienced professional with extensive multicultural exposure. Her career includes consulting roles at AECOM across the Asia-Pacific region and key leadership positions at Talisman Upstream Oil & Gas and Sime Darby, a Malaysian government-linked company (GLC).
At Cenergi SEA, Nesa leads the development of energy and carbon instruments markets, including Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) and technology-based carbon credit projects. Under her leadership, her team successfully registered Malaysia’s first technology-based carbon credit under the Verra registry in December 2024. She also serves as Secretary of the Malaysia Carbon Market Association (MCMA), that plays a pivotal role in advocating for a robust carbon market ecosystem, fostering collaboration between the private sector and government agencies, and enhancing market liquidity and scalability across the ASEAN region.
Nesa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Chemistry, Master’s degree in Environmental Management and is an internationally certified Environmental and Safety Lead Auditor.

Muhamad Aizuddin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Murdoch University in Perth, Western Australia. He currently serves as a Senior Manager at Bursa Carbon Exchange (BCX). In this role, he is instrumental in building strong participation by sourcing prospective buy-side clients and enhancing liquidity for carbon credits and renewable energy certificates (RECs) through targeted marketing. Additionally, he supports the development of a robust domestic ecosystem for Malaysia’s voluntary carbon market (VCM).
His key responsibilities include onboarding companies to the BCX, conducting customer due diligence checks on potential participants, and engaging with various stakeholders, including government bodies, financial institutions, government-linked companies (GLCs), and industry partners both domestically and internationally. These efforts are aimed at promoting the Carbon and Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) ecosystem.
Previously, he served as a Senior Executive at the Malaysian Investor Relations Association, Malaysia’s first and only professional association dedicated to developing and advancing the status and integrity of Investor Relations (IR) professionals.

Ar. Zulkifli Zahari is the President of Malaysia Association of Energy Service Companies (MAESCO) a post he has held since 2008. By profession, Zulkifli is an Architect. He is also a registered Green Building Facilitator and a Registered Electrical Energy Manager with Energy Commission of Malaysia.
Between 2000 – 2007, he was the Project Director for the Malaysian Industrial Energy Efficiency Improvement Project (MIEEIP) conducted by the Malaysian Government in collaboration with UNDP and GeF, and was appointed as a member of the National Steering Committee of The Building Sector Energy Efficiency Project (BSEEP) in 2011 – 2016, as well as the drafting of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act which is being enacted in 2024.
He is one of the juries for the National Energy Award (NEA) for the Energy Efficiency design and management category for the industrial, commercial and residential sector held annually by the Ministry of Energy.
Since 2014 he has developed MAESCO as the main training provider for certified Energy Efficiency related courses including Energy Management, Energy Auditor and Measurement and Verification which is recognised by the Energy Commission.

Daowei Lin is the Head of Northern Region at ENGIE Services Malaysia, part of ENGIE Group, a global leader in low-carbon energy and services. In his current role, he leads energy and utilities projects for industrial and commercial clients across Northern Malaysia, helping businesses strategically outsource utilities and adopt renewable energy to accelerate their transition toward carbon neutrality.
With extensive regional experience in Southeast Asia, Daowei has supported clients across Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines in implementing innovative energy efficiency and bioenergy solutions. Since joining ENGIE in 2020, he has played a key role in strengthening ENGIE’s industrial sector presence in APAC, contributing to more than EUR 60 million of CAPEX investment in utility projects.
Daowei began his career in oil and gas before transitioning into energy efficiency and renewables, holding both technical and business development roles. He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the National University of Singapore.

Karl has been active for over 30 years across Asian markets, especially in SE Asia and Australia. Covering management consulting and strategy roles, post-merger integration and transformation roles and in more recent times cross border M&A advisory.
His management consulting career involved working for global firms like PWC and Kearney as well as running his own boutique advisory business in Jakarta and Singapore.
Karl holds a double degree in Applied Economics and International Relations from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. Outside work he is also a prolific writer and published his first two spy novels during the 2020- 2021 Covid lockdown.

He has successfully developed more than 300MW of solar projects in Malaysia and internationally, showcasing his proficiency in project development and business development within the RE sector. Tawfique has also implemented value engineering strategies, including agri-photovoltaics, to maximize the dual usage of land developed for solar projects. In addition, he has extensive experience in waste to energy projects, including biomass from torrefied empty fruit bunches, biogas from palm oil effluent, and municipal solid waste.
Tawfique currently serves as a key senior management at Leader Energy Group Berhad, overseeing business development and strategies across 7 markets. His career journey includes valuable experiences in public listed and companies where he gained insights into the renewable energy industry and honed his strategic business skills.
Holding a master's degree in business from the University of Southern Queensland, he brings a strategic perspective to his presentations, emphasizing the intersection of sustainable energy solutions and effective business strategies. Tawfique is a member of the National Grid Code Committee under the Energy Commission and a member of the working group for futureproofing the Malaysia Electric Supply Industry under MY Power, operating under the purview of the Energy Ministry. As these sectors embark on pathway of decarbonization, Gary has supported the Bank in developing the Transition Finance Framework to support companies within these hard to abate sectors to justly and orderly transition.
